For as much as I like to bust Lloyd’s chops, he is pretty much the perfect husband-to-be.

He vacuums, he dusts, and he folds laundry.  He built us a shed, he renovated our basement, and he wired our entire house and outdoors for surround sound.  He bought me a Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas one year, and then installed an outlet in our island for ease of use, and later bought a TV for our kitchen so I could watch it while I cook.

Well, he said he bought the TV so I could watch TV while I cook.

I suspect that wasn’t a completely selfless purchase, as I often find him on our back deck watching the Bruins or Red Sox through the kitchen doors.  And then, come August, he tried to tell my my birthday gift was the new TV in the kitchen, because my engagement ring should have him covered for at least a year’s worth of gifts.

Huh???

I didn’t put up a fight.  We’ve never been big gift-givers in our relationship, as we often opt to go away for a weekend and if either of us really want something, we tend to just buy it anyway.  Plus, a girl  really shouldn’t argue with such a handy, close-to perfect fiancé.

So what do these burgers have to do with Lloyd writing off his new toys as my birthday gifts?

Nothing, other than the fact that they are tricky.

They look innocent enough.  Simple turkey burgers with cheese, right?

Nay, I say!

Looks can be deceiving.  These burgers are damn delicious, and don’t taste like they could possibly be good for you.

A nice blend of Italian flavorings lend these burgers great flavor and the melted, fresh mozzarella add a layer of delicious creaminess.  Topped with a spoonful of bright marinara and some fresh basil, these burgers are mouth watering.  Using minimal ingredients, these burgers come together in a snap.  These will certainly be gracing our grill many times this summer.
