I’ve been holding out on you. This recipe is one from way back, possibly even from the winter! That is not to imply that these weren’t amazing cookies. I just wasn’t happy with the pictures I captured. They were so good, that I had intentions of making more (they disappeared very quickly) and snagging some better photos. Clearly that never happened. Luckily, I noticed this recipe in a folder on my computer where delicious recipes go to die, all because I deemed them unphotogenic for the blog.

1 cup chocolate malted milk powder
-
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1½ teaspoons baking powder
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
1 stick plus 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
2/3 cup granulated sugar
-
2 eggs
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
¼ cup whole milk

2 cups Whoppers, coarsely chopped

1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Whisk together flour, malted milk powder, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in a bowl; set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar together on medium speed for about 3 minutes, until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating for 1 minute after each addition. Add vanilla. Reducing mixer speed to low, add half the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Add the milk and then the remaining dry ingredients, mixing until incorporated.

Fold in chocolate chips and chopped Whoppers.
-
Using a cookie scoop, drop batter on prepared pans. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
I happen to love Whoppers, both the chocolate and strawberry varieties. Something about the velvety, smooth flavor of malted milk makes treats like this taste extra special and a bit unexpected. If you love Whoppers, you will love these little cookies that look like turds gems! Imagine the surprise when you bite into what appears to be a strictly chocolate cookie! The texture is light and airy, almost cake-like. I promise they will not be deemed “too rich” by anyone. (Who are those people, anyway?!) The malt powder and the Whoppers lend the cookies a unique and wonderful flavor, taking these cookies to a whole new level, enhancing their already delicious taste.
