It’s been almost 2 weeks since my last post, and I wanted to apologize.

I’ve been suffering temporary blindness from my left hand.  Winking smile

In case you don’t follow me on Facebook or Twitter, I have some great news!  After 3 years of dating and 2.5 years of living in sin, Lloyd proposed, proving that the way to a man’s heart truly is through his stomach!  For all the jabs I take at Lloyd on this blog (and for every equally witty jab he takes at me) we couldn’t be more in love, despite our polar opposite personalities.

Paula Adbul had it right.

While I don’t consider myself a private person, I do believe that some things should remain sacred.  I won’t be sharing the details of the proposal on here, but I will say that he caught me off guard and for the first time in my life, I was speechless.  We cracked open a celebratory bottle of wine, and made the necessary phone calls.  I woke up with a hangover and a heavy left hand.  I’ve been walking on air ever since.  The past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement!  I have never been so happy, or felt so lucky.  Our families and friends are thrilled!  Just yesterday we booked our dream venue for summer 2012!

In addition to the engagement, I’ve been juggling a baking course, drowning in work at my job, and diving headfirst into wedding season, as we have 11 weddings to attend in 2011.  Busy is an understatement.  I know you’ll understand why I haven’t had a chance to sit down and share this wonderful news with you until now!  I have a backlog of recipes to share, and when I have time, I will post them.

Until then, I’ll be running color schemes and cake flavors and other nonsense wedding details by Lloyd, about which he has no say anyway.

Our future together is looking bright.
