You might know Jessica

She’s the author of a little blog that boasts chocolate and desserts and bacon and vegetables more chocolate?

Yea, yea.  We all know Jessica.  She’s the cause of the drool on my computer and the weight gain in my hips.

I’m a little late to the party with this one, but her “Better Than Crack” Brownies have been a fan favorite, circling the blogosphere ever since she first posted them last August.  There’s a reason when you type “better than crack” into Google, it auto fills “brownies” and the first page is Jessica’s recipe.

Continuing my week of easy BBQ dishes and desserts, I’m sharing this recipe with you.  It is quick, semi-homemade, and sure to make you the most popular guest at any party.

  • 1 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

  2. While they are finishing baking, melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Stir in cereal. Remove brownies from oven and evenly pour chocolate mixture over top.
  3. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

These are not better than crack.  These are crack.

These are evil and deceiving.

At first glance, they appear to be rich, dense, and heavy.

Pick one up, take a bite, and you realize that the texture is a bit airy and light.

Evil, because it doesn’t sit like a brick in your stomach.

No, these go down smooth, and leave you hankering for another.

These are a peanut butter lover’s dream come true.

These brownies boast not only the winning flavor combination of peanut butter and chocolate, but awesome texture, as well.  On the bottom, you’ve got the moist, fudgy brownie, covered by a layer of crunchy, salty peanuts and luxurious peanut butter cups, all topped off with the crispy cereal, smothered in a silky smooth and decadent milk chocolate and peanut butter coating.

I’m pretty sure these would make the.best.brownie.sundae.ever.

Not that I know.  I’m just guessing.

Stay tuned for more easy side dishes and desserts!
